Strandveld Vineyards is the southernmost winery in Africa situated just outside the small town of Elim in the Overberg near the southern tip of the continent at Cape Agulhas. Lying almost 35 degrees south, the Cape South coast is characterised by severe wind, mist and cool temperatures. This confluence of maritime climate, varying sites and lean gravelly soil types creates the diversity of terroir that distinguishes the wines of Strandveld Vineyards.
Strandveld is one of the handful of pioneering farms establishing this new and challenging area which is becoming internationally known for exceptional cool climate wines and in particular world class Sauvignon Blanc. Since the first wines were launched onto the market in 2005 Strandveld has earned numerous top local and international accolades for their wines, including 2 Five Star Platter awards and continues to go from strength from to strength.
